The bank's core systems had run reliably for years, but reliability had become a trap. Every new integration, every regulatory reporting change, every attempt to modernize the customer-facing experience ran into the same core banking platform — decades old, poorly documented, and too risky to touch without extensive testing. The team knew they needed to move to the cloud, but a full replacement in one step was not something the business, or its regulators, could tolerate.
DevsTek worked with the bank's technology and compliance teams to sequence the migration around risk, not convenience. Lower-risk, high-friction systems moved first — reporting, reconciliation, and internal tooling — validating the migration pattern before touching anything customer-facing. Core transaction processing was migrated last, behind a parallel-run period where both the legacy and modernized systems operated side by side until the team had full confidence in the new environment.
Data governance was treated as a first-class part of the project, not a follow-up task — every migrated system carried its audit trail and access controls forward, so the bank's compliance posture didn't regress during the transition.
